iPhone 5 To Be Announced Next Week According to Apple Engineers

We are just a week away from the iPhone 5 announcement, according to sources giving information to Nick Bilton from The New York Times. According to the sources which were unnamed Apple employees, the iPhone 5 is just a week away from being announced by Apple with a ‘fairly different’ design. The iPhone 5 design will not be so different from the Case-Mate case design for the iPhone 5 that were leaked early today.

It was also said that the next iPhone will have an eight-megapixel camera that will be made by Sony, as expected ever since Sony’s CEO Howard Stringer accidentally revealed earlier this year during an interview with the Wall Street Journal’s Walt Mossberg. The Apple engineer also said that the iPhone 5 would feature a faster A5 dual-core processor.

AT&T Already Carries the iPhone 4S in Their System? (Picture)

Engadget’s tipster claims that AT&T already have the next iPhone model named iPhone 4s — with lowercase ‘s’– in their inventory system. As you can obviously see, the inventory system is showing a white iPhone 4s and it’s not displaying the storage capability like the rest the iPhones in t he system.

Judging from the clandestine screenshot you see above, it most certainly seems like that’s the case. A helpful tipster sent us this tasty morsel, from AT&T’s internal system, listing the “iPhone 4s White” beneath a handful of already familiar Apple handsets. Could it be? Is Cupertino actually planning on bringing a white version of its next iPhone out at launch? We’re afraid only time will tell.

Apple is rumored to introduced the next iPhone in the next few weeks — naming the device iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S. However, a number of rumors points out the next Apple iPhone to be called iPhone 5.

Apple Set Event to Launch iPhone 5 and iOS 5 On October 5 [Report]

Doesn’t it makes sense everything 5? iOS 5, iPhone 5 and October 5. It looks like the 5 is the lucky number for the iPhone 5. Apple will hold a press conference on October 5th to announce iPhone 5 along with iOS 5 and will start selling the device a week later after the announcement, game portal PocketGamer reports.

PocketGamer sources provided no further information regarding to the next iPhone. The news is not very reliable and not proven. It doesn’t go with yesterday iPhone 5 released date that was leaked from Apple engineers who says that the next iPhone will be announced next week, this month.

Verizon Now Throttles Customers On 3G Unlimited Data Plan, Preparing for iPhone 5?

At the beginning of the year, back in February, Verizon updated its policy stating that they might start throttling (reducing data speed) for the most data hungry users. Yesterday, this policy took effect affecting 5% of the Verizon customers, so this won’t affects the rest of the 95% of Verizon customers. The 5% that are affected by this are those who use the most data of of all customer with 3G unlimited data plan. However if you’re on 4G LTE you’re good, you won’t be affected by this.

Don’t you think is not a coincidence that that Verizon added this policy back in February but is putting it in effect near the rumored iPhone 5 release date? Think about it Android+iPhone 4+iPhone 5, which we know it will sell like hot coffee, those three devices with all current and new customers Verizon will get from the iPhone 5 could easily congest Verizon’s network and turn it like AT&T.

A touchscreen tablet or phone is designed to bring ease of access to your life. A simple tap can perform a task which previously put one through quite a bit of hassle. But excess of everything is bad, and this convenience can turn into a nuisance when you keep tapping icons you didn’t mean to. If you own a jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, then bid good bye to all such touchy problems. DoubleTapToOpen is a free Cydia tweak that, as is clear from its name, requires you to tap twice to launch an app, hence putting an end to launching apps accidentally.

Often, you launch an icon on your iDevice mistakenly while swiping across to move from one home screen to another. This is specially a major problem with the iPad that, having a larger contact area, is more vulnerable to this inconvenience.

So what do you need to do to apply this tweak? First of all, you should have a jailbroken device. If you don’t, read our guide to jailbreaking your iOS device. Access the Cydia store after that. Now you can search for “DoubleTapToOpen” and once you have it installed, you will have the tweak working. To check the tweak’s working, tap any icon once and it shouldn’t launch. Tap it twice and you should have the app running.

Admittedly, there were a few moments where I  forgot to double tap and kept waiting for the app to launch, but this is a small price to pay for getting rid of a permanent nuisance. So you might ask, what if you want to revert back to the default single tap? Simply go back to Cydia and uninstall the tweak!
